When Domestic Abuse Escalates

The following is what a terrified Nicole Brown Simpson actually said
on a taped call to 911 in June 1993 while trapped in her house with O.J.
Simpson. A year later she was found murdered.

"I don’t want to stay on the line. He’s going to beat the shit
out of me".

This is what Nicole Brown Simpson said while discussing her ex-
husband, O.J. Simpson, with socialite-friend Faye D. Resnick.

"I’m afraid this man will kill me some day".**

**Quoted in Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life
Interrupted, by Faye Resnick, with Mike Walker, p. 144, Dove (1994).

Her autopsy report indicated that she was found by authorities
lying in a pool of blood across her front door step with the
door open and she was so severely slashed across her neck by
a knife, that she had almost been decapitated.

Nicole Brown Simpson (1957–1994)
, U.S.citizen and  ex-wife of
football player O.J. Simpson.

Do you know that statistics indicate between 20% to 33% of women are in an
abusive relationship. This crosses all economic boundaries. So you might ask, why
doesn't she just leave?? ...... Sounds simple doesn't it. Well it's not that simple.
Because she is afraid to stay, but even more terrified of what will be done to her
and/or her children if she leaves. How would you like to be trapped with no escape
24/7/365 and not know if you will be hurt or killed at anytime??? It might be safer
to sit on a case of dynamite with the fuse burning ...... at least you have the option
to put the fuse out.

"Estimates range from
960,000 incidents of violence against a current or former
spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend each year to
4 million women who are physically
abused by their husbands or live-in partners each year".
From: "Violence by Intimates: Analysis of Data on Crimes by Current or Former
Spouses, Boyfriends, and Girlfriends, U.S. Department of Justice, March, 1998"

                  Coalition/Site Dedication
             “Je Me Souviens/I Remember”

The  www.finabella.org  site and The Fina Bella Coalition Against
Domestic Violence
is dedicated to the memory of all women, children and men
throughout the world who have lost their lives because of Domestic Violence, or
have been injured and still carry the scars. To those whom are now living in a
violent intimate relationship and because of circumstance, are yet unable to find a
way out, we are thinking of you and hope to give you the inspiration and tools to
move out and safely move on with your life.

We also vividly remember that infamous day on December 6th 1989 when in less
than 20 minutes, 14 young women were brutally killed, and another 10 women & 4
men were injured in the
École Polytechnique Massacre

(enipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89cole_Polytechnique_massacre)
that took place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Because of the actions of just one
deranged individual, now we will never know what these intelligent women could
have achieved in their lives and ultimately would have contributed to humanity.
You are lost to us, but not forgotten. Your untimely deaths have brought sadness to
many, but you have not died in vain, because you have helped inspire others to do
better and try to find a way............
