About Fina Bella
Fina Bella was created by an enlighten Canadian male with the assistance of some very
creative, talented and supportive women. The motivation behind Fina Bella is to provide
unique and positive opportunities for women to excel in life and help make their dreams
become a reality.
We will do our very best, with your help, to meet this Challenge. Because Fina Bella
belongs to you, we encourage you to share, interact and become involved with us by
submitting comments, suggestions, feed back and hopefully you will feel comfortable to
become a member. As much as we would like Fina Bella to be everything to everyone, we
know that is impossible. So we have a links page to other web sites (Please see Resources
Page).
Fina Bella encourages giving to charities (please see Charities and Membership pages).
Because this is a women's website, we will focus on charities that relate to women's
concerns. These area's are:
- Women's related issues.
- Children's related issues.
Our goal at Fina Bella is to make your life better. Our door is always open, and we
welcome your visit. So, kick off your shoes and take a few minutes to curl up in one of our
cozy chairs and enjoy Fina Bella.

About the Founder of Fina Bella
Welcome to Fina Bella. I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Richard. Yes, I'm an educated straight male who felt
a need to create a women's website. Why? Read through this section and find out. Can I take all the credit for
involving myself in this venture? Absolutely not. Throughout my life I have had the pleasure to have some very
interesting conversations on many different topics with women. Some of these women have been
employees/co-workers, some have been neighbors, some have been family members/friends/lovers/girlfriends (one
was a wife) and some have been in social situations. The idea to build a website for women did not come to me as a
flash of genius. I know it was a long time in the making. But I do believe it was a combination of events that finally
took me in this direction.
I have always liked, cared and enjoyed being around women. Now I want to explain that statement. A lot of men say
"they like women", when in reality they feel uncomfortable with women. Or (as some women have told me, men,
“they just don't get us”) perhaps in some instances are afraid of you because you sometimes have a different
approach on a subject and that is foreign & threating to them, or they just don't understand women. The unknown is
always scary. What these men are missing, is attempting to listen and trying to appreciate the female perspective.
A little less testosterone and being “macho” and a little more audio & oral (meaning the ability to hear & ask
intelligent questions) skills would do them in good stead. Women have given me a wealth of knowledge and different
views on many subjects. Does that mean that I am “P***y Wiped” as my male counter parts might say. No it doesn't.
I'm a man and very male. But I regard women as people and respect them as equals.
As you are aware, women have come a long way over the last 100 years. Mainly because some women have taken
stands on various subjects to make change happen. I have not heard of many men standing beside you to help in
your cause. Because of that, there are still many troubling issues that remain unresolved and that should have
been decades ago. With your help, I want to try to undo some of the wrongs that exist today. The list is long (and
must be approached with small victories to start with) and steeped in male ignorance, culture, sometimes hate and
stupidity. While I don't always agree with my male counter part's view of women, in the case of this website, it is a
plus that I am a man. I can impart the male view on various subjects and what can be done to bring about change.
Don't expect miracles from me. I can only do my best and it has to be a team effort. So I need your help!
I am aware that on the list of women's requirements to feel comfortable, the two near the top are trust and honesty.
I know that I will have to earn that from you. I'd like to think like Carolyn Leigh (who composed lyrics for Frank
Sinatra), that “The Best Is Yet To Come”.
To me, any woman who will take a few moments out of her busy day to help me help you is a Fina Bella.
Best Regards,
Richard
PS You might ask, why the name Fina Bella? I chose it because I believe a woman does not have to lose her
femininity in her quest to be taken seriously, achieve what she wants to achieve, show she is strong in her
convictions and that she is intelligent. Many women believe, that to succeed in a "man's world", you have to think
like a man. I ask the question, in all the centuries that men have held power, have men been successful in
eradicating Wars, Famine, Violence and Injustice? They certainly have the power to. Maybe the time has come for
another perspective on how the world should be. A women's prospective! I'll tell you a secret. Men know that if
women joined together, you would be a major voice on the world stage. They also know that for various reasons that
won't happen! Are you ready to challenge that?
Stats from the past:
"Less than 10 years ago, only 62% of U.S. women (in Canada 70%) agreed that women should have equal rights. It
begs the question, then, that if the poll were conducted today, would the response rate improve, remain the same, or
skew lower"?
